Portable slams Olamide for ‘half support’, explains why he can’t drag Skepta

Controversial singer Portable has voiced his dissatisfaction with ace rapper Olamide over what he described as limited support during his breakout moment in the music industry.

In a recent interview on EchoRoom, the ‘Zazu’ crooner revealed that while he is grateful to Olamide for featuring on the 2021 hit track Zazu Zeh, he felt abandoned afterward.

According to Portable, Olamide’s support ended with a verse, and he received no further assistance in terms of management or guidance.

“I can’t drag Skepta because he hold my hand, Olamide didn’t hold my hand,” Portable said.

“He gave me a verse on ‘Zazu’ and left me without a management. He can’t sign me now because I’m now a global superstar,” he added.

Portable praised British-Nigerian rapper Skepta, claiming the international artist played a more impactful role in his career beyond just music. He suggested that Skepta’s influence helped open doors for him on a global scale.

This isn’t the first time Portable has publicly taken jabs at Olamide. In the past, he accused the YBNL boss of allegedly snatching his producer, dancer, and promoter shortly after the viral success of Zazu Zeh. Olamide, however, has consistently refrained from responding to the accusations or engaging in public spats.

Despite his criticisms, Portable acknowledged Olamide’s contribution to his initial fame but insisted that he expected more hands-on support from the music mogul.

Portable makes U-turn after calling Saheed Osupa ‘big for nothing’

Nigerian singer Portable has publicly apologized to veteran Fuji musician Saheed Osupa after initially ridiculing him for his song’s removal from streaming platforms due to alleged copyright infringement.

Portable had used a line from Osupa’s song, prompting complaints from the Fuji star and his distribution team, which led to the track being taken down from Spotify and Apple Music.

Following the takedown, Portable reacted angrily, but in a recent video on his Instagram page, he expressed regret for his outburst, attributing it to his hot temper.

“My fans, I am a hot-tempered person, I have said my mind and it has ended. King Saheed Osupa, please forgive me; money was what almost got in between us because I wanted to collect the money and I heard the song has been removed. That was why I fumed. Please forgive me. Help me beg him, my fans,” he pleaded.

“Big for Nothing” – Portable drags Saheed Osupa for taking down his song

Nigerian street-hop singer, Portable has publicly criticized veteran Fuji musician Saheed Osupa for taking down his song from streaming platforms over alleged copyright infringement.

In a viral Instagram video on Wednesday, Portable lashed out at Osupa for reporting his song, leading to its removal from Spotify and Apple Music.

The controversy arose after Portable used a line from Osupa’s song, prompting complaints from the Fuji icon and his distribution team.

Reacting to the takedown, Portable accused Osupa of failing to support his music career, labeling him “big for nothing”.

He contrasted Osupa’s actions with those of another Fuji legend, Pasuma, who, according to him, had been more accommodating.

“Saheed Osupa, you are big for nothing. If you can’t embrace me, I will drag you. You sing Fuji while I sing hip hop. The same way I used a line from your music is the same way I removed three verses from Pasuma. But Pasuma never report my song. Keep your distance if you can’t embrace me like the way Pasuma abducted me like his own child. Osupa is a good man,” he stated.
