In a recent interview on Power 105.1 FM, United States, Davido said, “My dad accepted my decision to do music after he heard my second single, ‘Dami Duro.’ The song blew up.”

Before then, my dad was using the police and army to stop my show and arrest show promoters, artists and everyone connected to any show I am billed to perform in. But when ‘Dami Duro’ became a huge success… I think it was the President’s ringtone. Someone told me. At that point, people started advising my dad to allow me do music.

I went further and accepted to return to school. I said I didn’t have to run away, that I should have spoken to him. No way, I was younger then and he was unapproachable. I told him I was scared of him.”

“Then I was a kid. Now, we are best friends, we talk about everything. He comes to all my shows. He is very involved in my business.”

Reno Omokri calls on NYSC to discipline corper, cites Davido as an example

Former presidential aide Reno Omokri has called on the  NYSC officials to discipline their member, Corper Raye for flouting their rules.

It would be recalled that Ushie Uguamaye, also known as Raye openly criticized President Bola Tinubu over the prevailing economic hardship.

Raye alleged that NYSC officials began threatening her, and was summoned to appear before her Local Government Inspector in Lagos on Monday, March 17.

Reacting to the outburst of the copper member on her page, Reno Omokri took to his page to assert that the young corper flouted the rule of the NYSC hence should be disciplined.

He cited singer, Davido as an example of young corpers who were disciplined years back for flouting the rules of the NYSC.

He wrote on his page;

“This is not about politics or ethnicity. Under President Buhari, the NYSC disciplined music star Davido for flouting its rule. The people of the Southwest did not accuse the NYSC of tribalism, and the PDP did not accuse President Buhari of witch-hunting an opposition politician. There must be a rule of law in Nigeria rather than rule by sentiments.”
