Speed Darlington Declared Wanted by NAPTIP Over Rape and Cyberbullying Allegations

The Nigerian government agency called NAPTIP (National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons) has declared popular singer Speed Darlington, whose real name is Darlington Okoye, wanted.
They said he is being looked for because of serious accusations like:
Rape
Cyberbullying
Cyberstalking (which means using the internet to threaten or disturb someone)
This information was posted on NAPTIP’s official Instagram page on Friday afternoon, saying:
“Speed Darlington is wanted for rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.
If you know where he is, please call 07030000203 or send an email to [email protected].”
🔥 What Happened?
It all started after Speed Darlington went live on Instagram and claimed he had sex with a 15-year-old girl. This made a lot of people very angry, especially because it happened on Children’s Day. Many people said he confessed to statutory rape, which is a serious crime.
The Lagos State government quickly reported the matter to NAPTIP, and the agency invited him for questioning.
📅 Timeline of Events
May 28, 2025: NAPTIP sent a letter asking Speed Darlington to appear at their office in Abuja by May 30.
He didn’t show up.
Instead, he replied saying he was “too busy” and would come on June 26.
But again, on June 26, he didn’t show up either.
So, NAPTIP gave him another chance to come in on Monday, June 2, but he still didn’t come.
🚔 Now He’s Wanted
Because of all these missed invitations and the seriousness of the accusations, NAPTIP has now declared him wanted.
They are also working with other security agencies to make sure he doesn’t escape and is brought in for questioning.
🗣 What NAPTIP Said
Mr. Vincent Adekoye, NAPTIP’s spokesperson, said:
“We are working with other law enforcement agencies. This is not something we are taking lightly. We want to make sure he comes to answer questions.”
He also said their Director-General, Mrs. Binta Bello, is watching the matter closely because it involves a child and a serious case of sexual abuse.
⚖️ Why This Is Serious
According to Nigerian law, having sex with someone below 18 is a crime, even if the person agreed to it.
Also, saying such things online and disturbing people with threatening words or actions is against the Cybercrime Law.
📣 Call for Help
NAPTIP is asking anyone who knows where Speed Darlington is to report immediately by calling or emailing them.
