Shock Accusation: Actor Lalude Alleges Betrayal by Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu Campaigns”

Veteran Nollywood actor, Fatai Adetayo, who many know as Lalude, has shared how he and some of his colleagues were treated unfairly after helping with the 2023 election campaign for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
In a video interview on Behind the Fame, Lalude said he and other actors spent one month and three weeks (about 7 weeks) working for the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign, but in the end, they didn’t get the payment they were promised.“They gave us ₦10,000 daily for feeding. We were supposed to get more than that for our work, but they decided that’s all we would get,” Lalude said.
He explained that younger members of the group suggested saving part of their daily feeding allowance, but when the organizers found out, they started delaying their payments. In the end, after all the work, Lalude said they didn’t receive anything else.“We finished the job and got nothing. If we curse them, they won’t survive it till their last breath,” he added angrily.
Lalude also mentioned that the NURTW (National Union of Road Transport Workers) boss made big promises to him and another actor, Alapini, but nothing was fulfilled.“He asked us what we wanted and promised to give us something by Thursday. He never showed up. Everything was a lie,” Lalude said.
The actor was clearly upset and cursed those who blocked their payments, saying they would never prosper in life.“Whoever stopped us from being paid after that long campaign — may they never benefit from Tinubu or Sanwo-Olu’s leadership,” he declared.
Alapini, who also spoke in the interview, said they were promised money when they met Governor Sanwo-Olu, but they never received it. He believes someone may have collected the money on their behalf and embezzled it.“We suffered during the campaign, but I tried to protect the people who brought us in. I even lied that they treated us well,” Alapini confessed.
Lalude added that they were told President Tinubu had instructed his son, Seyi Tinubu, to help them, but the middleman who brought them into the campaign didn’t follow through.“I told him I wanted a car. He promised to give both me and Alapini one. Later, he said someone would give us ₦1.5 million the next Thursday. Till today, we’ve seen nothing,” Lalude said.
He also recalled how they were camped for seven weeks, sometimes trekking 2 to 3 miles, while others drove by in cars.
Actors like Aminatu Papapa and Alapini have also spoken out in regret, saying they wasted their time and energysupporting Tinubu during the elections without getting anything in return.
