M.I Abaga Regrets APC Support: ‘Not the Party of My Dreams'”

Nigerian rapper Jude Abaga, better known as M.I, recently said he made a mistake by supporting the political party APC during the 2015 elections.
In a recent talk on the Menism podcast, M.I explained that he supported APC because he thought the then ruling party, PDP, was very corrupt.
He said, “Yes, I supported APC because at that time, I felt the PDP government was very corrupt. I wanted change and joined people asking for a better government.”
But M.I also said that APC did not do what he hoped it would do. He said, “No matter how much you try to be right, sometimes you make mistakes. APC is not the party I dreamed it would be.”
M.I also said he stopped complaining about politics on social media like Twitter and Instagram. He explained that he still cares about problems in the country but wants to help in real ways.
He said, “People were angry with me when I tweeted about attacks in Benue, and they reminded me that I supported APC. But I want young people to take action and make a difference, especially in creative jobs like music.”
M.I believes the creative industry can help many young people find jobs and create opportunities, even if the government is not perfect.
He said, “If the leaders don’t give jobs, we can create our own chances.”
