No Permanent Deal: Bayern Chief Ends Jackson Speculation

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has made it clear that striker Nicolas Jackson will not stay at the club permanently, even though he joined on loan from Chelsea this summer.

Jackson moved to Bayern on transfer deadline day in a season-long loan deal. Reports said there was a £56 million buy option in the agreement.

But Hoeness explained that the option will never be activated, because it only works if Jackson starts 40 matches, which he says is “impossible.”

Speaking to Sport1 Dopa, Hoeness said:

“The player and his agent paid €3m, and we paid €13.5m for the loan. But there will definitely not be a permanent contract.”

The 23-year-old Senegal striker had lost his place at Chelsea under new coach Enzo Maresca, so he pushed to leave. The transfer nearly collapsed after Chelsea first refused, because of Liam Delap’s injury. But in the end, the deal went through after Chelsea recalled Marc Guiu from Sunderland.

Jackson is now hoping to restart his career with coach Vincent Kompany at Bayern. He could make his Bundesliga debut on September 13 against Hamburger SV.
