JAMB: Student rushed to hospital after setting eyes on UTME result

A Nigerian student has been hospitalized following a severe anxiety attack triggered by the outcome of his 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result.
The incident, which has gone viral on social media, has drawn attention to the growing mental health toll that academic pressure is taking on young Nigerians.
The student’s sister, with the TikTok handle @big_ellaa7, shared a heartbreaking video showing her younger brother lying on a hospital bed, visibly distressed.
In the emotional clip, she explained that her brother had been hopeful and full of joy after writing the exam, confident that he had performed well, only for his results to deliver a crushing blow.
“My brother after seeing his JAMB score. He had an anxiety attack. He was rushed to the hospital. He studied like his life depended on it,” she wrote in the caption.
“After he wrote the exam, he came back so full of joy because he felt he answered them correctly. I just hope this failure isn’t done intentionally because it’s messing up these children’s mental health,” she added.
Though she did not disclose his exact 2025 UTME score, the sister noted that it was significantly disappointing, enough to push her brother into emotional and physical distress.
“2025 JAMB did him dirty. Get well soon my love. I no fit ask person wey de hospital wetin him score shaa… I just know it’s very bad for him to have that anxiety attack,” she noted.
